How the table is built
Daylight is cut into eight equal choghadiya, and so is the night. The first day window belongs to the weekday's lord and the sequence runs Udveg, Char, Labh, Amrit, Kaal, Shubh, Rog; the night sequence starts elsewhere and runs backwards by two. Amrit, Shubh, Labh and Char are favourable; Udveg, Rog and Kaal are avoided for beginnings.
Reading it well
Choghadiya is the everyday muhurta — for setting out, opening, buying, calling. For the moments that matter most, a Jyotishi weighs it against your own chart and the day's tithi and nakshatra.
Common questions
Which choghadiya are good?
Amrit (best), Shubh, Labh and Char. Udveg, Rog and Kaal are avoided for starting something new.
Why does the table differ by city?
Each window is one-eighth of the local daylight or night, so it follows your city's sunrise and sunset.
Is Char good?
Char (moving) is favourable for travel and anything meant to move; neutral for the rest.
